Chris Austin Ross, founder of The Merch Factory, recognized the need for families to have a safe home to shelter in place during the COVID-19 pandemic and came up with an idea to help support this need by partnering with Habitat for Humanity Niagara.
“I recognized these are unprecedented times for families across Niagara,” said Chris. “The pandemic really shed light on the need for having a decent home to stay safe in while the entire country was on lock-down. Habitat for Humanity plays a big role in helping families achieve affordable homeownership – so I wanted to find a way to give back to the community and help build affordable homes for local families.”
The Merch Factory designed t-shirts to support Habitat’s mission that can be purchased for $20 each and $10 from every t-shirt will go toward Habitat Niagara’s homebuilding program.
“Habitat for Humanity Niagara believes in a world where everyone has a safe and decent place to live; a mission that has become even more important now than ever,” said Lorraine Snihur, Habitat Niagara’s Chief Development Officer. “When Chris reached out to us asking how he could help with our mission, the perfect partnership was created. Buy a shirt, help build a home…a simple yet impactful way to join us on our mission.”
