Volunteers are the heart of Habitat

Volunteers are at the heart of Habitat for Humanity's mission - we couldn't do what we do without them.

“Habitat for Humanity Niagara is a team of enthusiastic volunteers, community partners and staff. We are guided by our values and committed to transforming the lives of families through affordable housing.”

Throughout the 28 years that Habitat for Humanity Niagara has been operating they have helped us to:

  • Build 67 homes, creating stable and secure housing for more than 260 children.
  • Open and help run three ReStores in the Niagara region.
  • Perform over 1,830 salvages, removing kitchens, walk-in closets, vanities, pantries, windows, and doors from homes, and salvaging hospitals, churches and retail stores.

And although our volunteer opportunities are suspended at this time (until we are permitted to reopen and resume our operations), we’d like to give a huge shout out to our amazing volunteers for helping to build stronger communities!
