Habitat Niagara launches online volunteer management program

Habitat Niagara has moved to a more environmentally friendly way to manage its volunteers and recently launched a new software program that will eliminate the unnecessary use of paper and allow volunteers to digitally sign in and out of their shifts.

“This new software is going to be a great asset to our volunteer program, both for our volunteers and our staff,” explains Angela Daley, Habitat Niagara’s Volunteer Engagement Manager. “We launched it on November first and so far, it is going well. We will continue to add features and adjust processes with the helpful feedback from our team.”

The benefits of the program allow volunteers to set up a profile to update their information, availability and qualifications as well as track their volunteer hours, sign in and out of shifts and earn badges for completing training and milestones.

It also allows staff who oversee the volunteers the opportunity to access and manage volunteer schedules and tasks, track volunteer hours, communicate with volunteers and gather feedback from them.
