The Grimsby Habitat ReStore has a special group of volunteers who keep the warehouse running smoothly.
“We couldn’t run the store without our volunteers, they are an important piece to our organization,” explains ReStore Manager, Erol Onen. “The ladies who volunteer in our warehouse work as a team to unload the truck, sort and clean-up the donations, price them and put them in the store for sale.”
The Habitat for Humanity ReStores feature new and gently used items for your home, every purchase creates the opportunity for a better life, and help families achieve the strength, stability and self-reliance through affordable homeownership.
“Volunteers provide support in so many ways for our ReStores,” said Warehouse Lead, Cheryl Young-Atkinson. “We try to keep our operating costs low to maximize the amount of money that goes back into our home builds.”
Although the ReStore may not be top of mind for people looking to volunteer, there are many opportunities available at all Niagara ReStore locations in Fonthill, Grimsby and St.Catharines.
