Welland Hydro donates land to Habitat Niagara

WELLAND, ON - Welland Hydro-Electric System Corp. donated a parcel of residential land to Habitat for Humanity Niagara to provide a site for a future home building project.        

For more than three years Welland Hydro has supported Habitat Niagara by donating funds to help build homes in Welland, and also provided team members who have rolled up their sleeves and helped to hammer nails and paint walls in Habitat homes.

“We truly appreciate this partnership with Welland Hydro,” said Mark Carl, Habitat Niagara CEO, “Without their support, we would not be able to have the impact we do in our community.”

Wayne Armstrong, Welland Hydro President and CEO, reinforced their commitment to Habitat for Humanity Niagara and the city of Welland.

“Welland Hydro is committed to support the residents in the city of Welland,” explains Armstrong. “This lot will allow Habitat Niagara to build a house for a future Welland family, and also continue their mission to bring communities together to help families build strength, stability and independence through affordable homeownership.”

Welland Hydro takes great pride in giving back to the community where their customers live and work and wanted to do their part to ensure Habitat continues to provide affordable homes in the city of Welland for families families in the city of Welland.
