ST.CATHARINES, ON – Reliance Home Comfort donated a cargo van to Habitat for Humanity Niagara to enhance its salvage program, where donated kitchens turn into building homes for families across the region.
For more than five years Reliance has supported Habitat Niagara by donating and installing furnaces and water heaters to Habitat home builds. As well, its team members have also rolled up their sleeves, put on hard hats and safety shoes to help hammer nails and paint walls in Habitat homes.
“We truly appreciate this partnership with Reliance,” said Mark Carl, Habitat Niagara CEO. “Without their support, we would not be able to make the impact we do in our community.”
“Our salvage program does five to ten salvages a week removing kitchens and other usable items for free across Niagara,” explained Keith Gowans, Habitat Niagara COO. “Our previously donated salvage truck reached the end of its road and it wasn’t in the budget to purchase another, so I reached out to Ross at Reliance to see if they could help us out.”
“I’ve always admired Habitat’s leadership position in local communities and the foundation of support they represent for families in need of assistance,” said Ross Beaman, General Manager at Reliance. “This van is just one more example how our commitment to Habitat and our community has come to life.”
Reliance takes pride in giving back to the community where their employees live and work and wanted to do their part to ensure that Habitat continues to provide their salvage service and generate funds to help build homes for families across Niagara.
The van was rebranded and wrapped through a donation from CNI Graphics. It was also detailed and a vehicle safety was performed as part of Reliance’s generous donation. For more information about Habitat’s salvage program please visit www.habitatniagara.ca
