Donald Newton Teasdale
October 28, 1931 – May 25, 2010

With much sorrow we announce the passing of Don Teasdale on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at Welland Hospital. Don was the cherished father of Robert (Sharyn Smith), Sarah (Sean Duffy), Virginia (Pamela Higgins) and Catherine (Kris Rose) and loving Papa to Julia and Cameron Teasdale, John Duffy, Ethan, Avery and Maya Shaw, Isabel and Nathaniel Rose. He was also the beloved partner of Patricia Dayboll and devoted son to the late Irene and Thomas Teasdale and brother to the late Joan Cooper.

Don was born in Macklin, Saskatchewan and was raised in Salvador, Saskatchewan and Burnaby, British Columbia. He worked for the Ontario Ministry of Health, was involved with public laboratories, air ambulance, and served as the Director of Psychiatric Hospitals for Ontario before establishing his own consulting firm. He retired in 1991 and went on to volunteer with Meals on Wheels and Northlea United Church in Toronto, and was a founding member and building co-chair of the Niagara affiliate of Habitat for Humanity. He was a member of Lawrence Park Community Church, Northlea United Church and an adherent of St. James & St. Brendan Anglican Church. He dedicated himself to his family, community and his Lord. He will be remembered for his great big laugh, boundless kindness and generosity.

Friends and family are invited to the visitation on Friday 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the DAVIDSON FUNERAL HOME, 135 Clarence Street, Port Colborne, followed by a funeral at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 29, 2010 at St. James & St. Brendan Anglican Church, 55 Charlotte Street, Port Colborne. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to his favourite charity, Habitat for Humanity-Niagara.
