In return, Habitat Partner Families are expected to…

• Complete 500 hours of Sweat Equity volunteering in your community or at the Habitat office or ReStore before moving into your house.
• Help publicize your house before and after it is built. Publicity is important because it helps bring in new volunteers and donors so more families can be helped.
• Attend Home Ownership classes designed to help you prepare for the responsibilities of homeownership.
• Maintain positive relationships with volunteers and donors, community members and your neighbours as a Habitat home owner.
• Make regular monthly payments on your mortgage without default.
• Maintain your home in good repair throughout all seasons.
• Meet with Habitat on an annual basis, disclose your income and provide proof of a valid home insurance policy.
