Home #29 - 2009 Port Colborne, DSBN Build

Home #29 was begun in February 2009.

The Rotary Club of Port Colborne Centennial partnered with Habitat for Humanity Niagara to build the organization’s second Adopt-a-Home in Port Colborne. As part of Rotary’s commitment to servicing community initiatives, it pledged to raise funds for the building of a Habitat home on Paul Street in Port Colborne.

This build was truly a community project. District School Board of Niagara Specialist High Skills Major Construction students were onsite in their portable classroom, putting theory into practice by building this single-family raised bungalow. Through this type of partnership, students have the opportunity to earn industry-recognized certifications, in part or in full, from the Construction Safety Association of Ontario, as well, apprenticeship certificates from the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities. This home was completed in early June.

We want to recognize and thank land donor Earl Ruston from Medina Supply and the City of Port Colborne for their continued support.

Thank you to all of our National and Local donors.  Click to see list.
